Um eine Vorauswahl an möglichem Material für das neue Album zu haben, welches mehr Song-orientiert gestaltet werden soll, nimmt Phillips im Sommer einige Demos von älteren und neuen Tracks zuhause auf.
Um sich mit den der neuen Rhythmus-Gruppe mit Drummer Michael Giles und Bassist John G. Perry warm zu spielen und Arrangements auszuarbeiten, proben die drei Anfang Oktober im Probestudio des Drummers.
Am 16. Oktober beginnen die Aufnahme-Sessions unter der Leitung von Produzent Rupert Hine in den Essex Studios, gefolgt von Overdub-Sessions in den Farmyard Studios. Diverse "Work In Progress"-Fassungen des Materials sind davon veröffentlicht.

Im März nimmt Ant neue Versionen von Lucy: An Illusion und I Saw You Today auf und hat in seinem Heim-Studio wieder Harry Williamson zu Gast, mit dem er nach den Demos von 1975 die gemeinsame Gypsy Suite final auf Band bringt. Anschließend werden Orchester-Arrangements zum gemeinsamen Werk Tarka vom London Philharmonic Orchestra unter der Leitung von Ants Freund Jeremy Gilbert in den Londoner CBS Studios eingespielt, was für die kommenden zehn Jahre die letzte Aktivität zu diesem Projekt sein wird. |

Um Promo für sein zweites Album machen zu können, bekommt Anthony Phillips die Möglichkeit im Juli in den Glasgower Studios des Radio-Senders "Radio Clyde" eine Live-Performance über den Äther zu bringen. Neben Songs seiner beiden veröffentlichten Alben, gibt es auch bislang unveröffentlichtes Material zu hören, was in Teilen auf seiner kommenden Song-Sammlung Private Parts & Pieces erscheinen würde.
