    Das Buch von Robert Ellis geht für alle die dies vorbestellt haben am 24.11. zum Versand.
    Das Buch von Stereo33Books wird erst Anfang 2015 erscheinen. Nach Aussage des Herausgebers ist ein Grund dass Genesis bzw. deren Management nicht wollten das dieses Buch mit den Veröffentlichungen der Doku und der R-kive zeitlich zusammenfallen. Ein Zusammenhang erschließt sich mir dabei allerdings erstmal nicht. Das Buch wird einen Fokus auf den englischen Tourabschnitt haben der ja auch erst 1975 stattfand.

    2007 erschien - sicherlich motiviert durch die Reunion-Tour auch ein Buch von eclipsed-Autoren:

    Habe auf dem deutschen Wikipedia-Eintrag mal die Literaturliste etwas überarbeitet, ist noch nicht freigeschaltet. Auf der englischen stand bisher nur Chapter & Verse sehr versteckt, auch da habe ich eine Liste der englischsprachigen Literatur eingefügt, die scheint nun direkt sichtbar zu sein (?). Durch die damit verbundenen Recherchen kamen auch meine weiteren Hinweise hier im Thread zu Stande.

    Nach monatelanger Funkstille gibt es jetzt einen Newsletter zum Genesis-Buch "The lamb lies down on broadway" welches dann hoffentlich noch dieses Jahr erscheint.     "It’s been a couple of months since our last newsletter about the Genesis book, but we’ve not been idle - so time to bring subscribers up to date. Because we decided to hold publication back into 2015 (as outlined last time), our next two books have dropped in ahead of it (titles at the end of the newsletter in case you are interested!).
    But it has given us more time to keep on hunting for material, which continues to pay off. Only recently Simon had a long chat with a photographer who was invited to take some pictures at Hedley Grange while the Lamb album was being recorded. He ended up having lunch with them at the studio (and photographing them in the process!).
    We asked him how he got the assignment and it really shows us how times have changed. As a big fan of the band, he took some pictures on the 1973 tour from the stalls and just sent one to the band as a Christmas present. Their manager held on to it and later called him up and asked if he’d like to pop over to the studio and take some pictures... An incredible experience for any fan, and something you’d be hard pushed to imagine happening these days.
    We have also been organising the printing of the book, a task made more urgent by the fact that Steve Hackett has agreed to sign a limited number of copies for us. Has agreed? Has already done so in fact!
    This all happened very quickly, as Steve was on holiday with friends in North Wales. Jon lives just the other side of the Dee estuary, so Steve offered to pop over and chat, then do the signing. We have agreed to make a donation to a charity of Steve’s choice in return, which is a great idea, and we will let people know more in the book.
    It was a really interesting couple of hours as you might imagine, and we spent a little time watching some grainy footage of the Lamb shows from a fan produced DVD. Jon also did an interview with Steve for his radio show to promote the new solo album and upcoming tour. We also printed out full-size copies of 40 or so pages for Steve to look through, and he seemed very impressed with the results. It is strange seeing the pages “for real” for the first time, as so much of a project like this revolves around looking at the layout on a computer monitor rather than as printed pages. If you haven’t seen the visuals, there are a selection on the ST33 website.
    Anyhow, Steve has signed an edition of 125, and this will obviously be our top level version of the book. It is our plan to offer this edition initially to our subscribers as this seems the fairest way to proceed.
    The news about the signing did get out on Facebook, and prompted a few anxious emails as some people thought we had already put the book out, so our apologies for any misunderstanding. We can show a photo of Jon and Steve, with the book pages in the foreground, and a shot of Steve doing the signing.



    We have also been chatting to journalist and writer Hugh Fielder. Hugh saw the Lamb tour and reviewed it for the UK music press at the time, as well as interviewing members of the group. It is planned to have Hugh write at length about his experiences at the time.
    And of course as always we would love to hear from any other people who went to the shows to give us their thoughts looking back, so do get in touch.



    The plan is to start getting edition details together over the next few weeks and conclude negotiations with some of the photographers. People who pre-order any edition will have their name added to a special page in the book to say 'thanks' for supporting this project.

    mein Name ist Philipp Röttgers, ich bin 25 und studiere "English Studies" in Bonn im Master. Ich habe meine Bachelorarbeit über meine absolute Lieblingsband Genesis geschrieben und diese wurde nun im Tectum Verlag als Buch herausgebracht:

    In dem Buch stelle ich die beiden Äras der Band gegenüber: die Phase mit Peter Gabriel als Sänger und die Phase mit Phil Collins als Sänger. Ich analysiere ausgewählte Songs, Liveauftritte, Musikvideos, Albumcover und Presse- und Fanrezensionen, um herauszufinden ob der angebliche Wandel von der Progressive-Rock-Band zur Pop-Gruppe wirklich so stattgefunden, ob die Band sich wirklich so stark verändert hat. Außerdem beziehe ich Aspekte aus den Solokarrieren der einzelnen Bandmitglieder mit ein, um herauszufinden ob man den angeblichen Wandel wirklich hauptsächlich an den beiden Sängern festmachen kann.

    Mein Englisch ist wahrscheinlich zu mies dafür.
    Was mich interessiert, ist natürlich,
    zu welchem Schluss bist du bzgl. der Abhängigkeit vom jeweiligen Sänger gekommen?
    Meiner Meinung nach, wäre der oder zumindest ein Wandel auch ohne Sängerwechsel gekommen.
    Da würde ich Steves Weggang als entscheidender einschätzen.
    Ich kann das natürlich nicht wissenschaftlich belegen. ;)

    drummerphil: Das ist doch mal etwas! ´Ne Bachelorarbeit über sein Hobby schreiben! Toll! Somit sei die (Schleich-)Werbung verziehen;-). Ich werde mir das Teil zu legen, denn....öh....ist ja auch mein Hobby:D
