Im Rahmen des CHELTENHAM MUSIC FESTIVALS wurde er knapp 10 Minuten interviewt: stammt aus dem März! Leider geht es überwiegend nur um "CLASSICAL PIECES"...
Och das Interview ist doch schon alt (und es wurde heute mal wieder auf Tonys Facebook Seite gepostet…). Natürlich geht es um klassische Musik, denn Tony hat ja extra für dieses Festival ein Klassikstück komponiert oder ist gerade noch dabei es zu komponieren. Ansonsten wird Tony sein Backkatalog zusammen Nick Davis wohl remastern wiederveröffentlichen. Dave „Squids“ Kerzner (ehemals bei SoC und auch glühender Banks-Fan) berichtete im Dezember, dass Tony und Nick Davis an neuen Sachen arbeiten sollen. Nur ist mir dabei nicht klar, ob er damit das Komponieren der Musik für das Festival meint, oder völlig neue Musik.

Anfürsich bringt das Interview keine besonders neue Informationen mit sich. Was aber neu ist, ist die Tatsache, dass Banks eine Reunion nicht komplett ausschließt. Wenn man zurückblickt, so hieß es im Jahr 2012 noch: "I think we probably won't do it. Phil, particularly, has sort of moved on somewhat. We did do that last tour three or four years ago as a sort of goodbye. That was the idea of it."

Finally, what are you up to at the moment?
Well, I did this piece for the Cheltenham Music Festival, a 15-minute piece that was performed there and was quite fun to do. And I’m working on adding to that and probably doing another orchestral record. I’ve got a couple of pieces that are fairly complete and have a few more to add.
Kollege Fripp hat es gestern ja bereits im „Sum of the Parts“-Thread verlinkt, hier soll der Vollständigkeit halber noch einmal das Interview verlinkt werden: The Waiting Room Online (TWR #91). Das Interview selbst ist zwar schon ein paar Monde her, aber immerhin hört man wieder etwas von unserem Rosengärtner.
Neben den erwähnten Äußerungen zur Dokumentation, R-Kive, der Zukunft von Genesis und Gott und die Welt, gibt es für den gemeinen Tony Banks – Fan (soll es tatsächlich noch geben, hab ich mir sagen lassen 
;-)) äußerst interessente Informationen. Seine Soloalben sollen weiter wieder-veröffentlicht werden, zudem ist etwas in Planung – worauf das hinaus zielen wird ist zwar noch nicht wirklich bekannt, aber immerhin. Hoffentlich wird es aber nicht nur wieder ein schnödes Klassikalbum, „Six“ war im Vergleich zu „Seven“ schon schwächer. Ein Klavierkonzert wäre doch mal was. Ansonsten erinner mich bitte daran, Steve im September darüber zu informieren:
TWR: With Phil’s ongoing health issues, has any thought been given to any potential recording and/or touring plans?
TB: I honestly don’t see it but we never rule it out. We never say never and all that. I think that Mike and I would always be quite happy to do something and I am sure that Steve would as well - even if he hasn’t forgiven me for my remarks! (laughs). Obviously Phil and Pete are the most difficult ones and tying Peter down to anything is extremely difficult! And Phil is really… there would have to be such a different way of doing it, to have another drummer and all that if Peter was involved and if Phil was doing just the singing and it would be quite difficult in a way … who knows? He (Phil) is a lot better physically than he was a year ago and so you never know with these things but I think it is unlikely that anything is going to happen in quite the way you might want

Mit etwas gerunzelter Stirn habe ich die folgende Passage zur Kenntnis genommen:
TWR: What do you think of Steve’s recent Genesis Revisited album and tour?
TB: Well I haven’t been. It’s not really for me I suppose is the honest answer. I have heard one or two of the songs on radio and they sound fine, you know. I suppose you could say he is as much a part of it as everybody else and he does it and there is a touch of Genesis there but it is a difficult thing, I am not really… it’s not for me is what I am saying. I am not saying it is good, bad or indifferent it is for fans but not for somebody who played in the group and I have had enough trouble watching and I have kind of made a rule of not going to anybody’s shows anymore because I am fed up with it! (laughs). It’s a funny experience when you see Peter or Phil or Mike on stage doing stuff, you can’t listen to it in the way that other people do really. And every time they do a Genesis song it feels really strange. So I am staying away from it.
Immerhin das erste mal, daß ich überhaupt ein Statement von einem der Kollegen zu Hacketts Nostalgie-Projekt lese. Aber so richtig verstanden habe ich es, glaube ich, nicht. Zumindest scheint es nicht mangelndes Interesse zu sein, sondern irgendeine Art von Berührungsangst. Oder er versucht einfach sehr höflich und diplomatisch zu sein. Kauzig.

In part two, Charles focuses on the keyboards, playing music by Deep Purple, ELP, Yes, Genesis and Tony Banks. Charles also interviews Tony Banks.
Hier gibt es ein recht aktuelles Interview mit Tony über Genesis, seine Solokarriere und das neue Boxset. Auf dem Bild sieht man Tony in den Farm Studios sitzen, also dürfte das Studio doch nicht leergeräumt sein, wie ich sonst dachte.
Ich bin leider kein Team Rock-Plus-Mitglied. Ist jemand von Euch da registriert und könnte mir freundlicherweise das Interview zukommen lassen?
