Porcupine Tree

Ich habe sie heute morgen bekommen . Vorläufig gibt es das Teil nur bei burningshed - später soll aber wohl auch eine Veröffentlichung über den "normalen" Handel erfolgen - wie lange das dauert weiß ich allerdings noch nicht.

Für mich war es kein Neu- sondern ein Erstkauf. Ich höre ja PT erst seit etwa 1 1/2 Jahren und hatte keine Lust das Album teuer bei Ebay zu kaufen. Daher habe ich keinen Vergleich, was den Klang angeht. Mitgeliefert wird halt noch eine DVD-A - aber dafür habe ich keine geeignete Anlage.

Allerdings gibt es wohl irgendwelche technischen Probleme mit der DVD-A - das zitiere ich jetzt auch 'mal wörtlich:

When playing the DVD-disc as DVD-video, you won't be able to access the two bonus tracks. According to Burning Shed (PT's online store) this problem is common to all copies and they currently investigating the possibilities of fixing it:
We're currently waiting for responses from both the manufacturer (the company at fault) and Porcupine Tree's management, to find out what can be done, before we send out a general email to all purchasers.
Regardless, we hope the issue will be sorted out soon.
In different news, a full song from the forthcoming Porcupine Tree live DVD Arriving Somewhere... is now available to view at the band's MySpace page. Blackest Eyes was filmed along with the rest of the DVD in Chicago last October. The DVD, edited by Lasse Hoile and with the sound mixed into both stereo and 5.1 surround sound, is due for release in late Summer. There will be a short promotional tour of Europe and the USA, dates to be announced shortly.

Übrigens kommen PT im September nochmal zu einer kurzen Tour - zwei termine in England sind schon bestätigt, ich rechne aber auch mit wenigen Auftritten in Deutschland.

Noch eine kurze Ergänzung: Als Support für Porcupine Tree ist die Band PAATOS aus Schweden bestätigt. Ich kenne nur zwei Songs, die mir aber ganz gut gefallen. Ihr aktuelles Album ist immerhin zum "Album des Monats" bei Eclipsed gewählt worden.
