Ich bin ein wenig überrascht, dass Discipline so hoch im Kurs steht. Hätte nicht gedacht, dass die Scheibe so beliebt ist.
Ich denke, der Sound war 1980 absolut neu und modern (wie das Debut anno 69) - wie aus einer anderen Welt.
Selbst als ich ca. 1986/87 Erstkontakt mit KC hatte, lief da Discipline auf einem fremden Walkman und ich dachte, was ist das für abgefahrene andersartige Mucke. Der Virus hatte mich erreicht.
...hatte ich schon gesagt, daß die VROOOM EP von 1994 fehlt? 
Gerade der Titelsong klappt in der aktuellen Fassung der Wilden 7 mit Sax m.E. nicht, klingt fast schon "albern" oder wie ein englischsprachiger Schreiber anderswo meinte, wie aus der Benny Hill Show...

Das Komische ist, dass "Cirkus" gar nicht auf der Compilation drauf ist. Aber sowas gibt es bei der Betitelung der Live-Alben, glaube ich, öfter.

Ich glaube anno 99 war noch keine "hörbare" Cirkus-Livefassung aus dem Archiv geborgen worden, aber der Name passt m.E. ganz hervorragend für die Compilation.
Auf der Tour 2016 wechselt die Setlist wohl allabendlich. Gefällt mir gut! Dir auch schon mal ein geiles Konzert am 03.10.!

Es sammelt sich immer mal wieder was Neues bei mir an, angesichts der unglaublich zahlreichen KC-Live-Releases ist höchstwahrscheinlich auch längst noch nicht Schluss mit der Regal-Auffüllerei.
Läuft also nun zum insgesamt dritten Mal die Live-Anthologie "Cirkus" (1969-1998) - GROSSARTIG!!! Unter anderem gibt es darauf hammermäßige Einspielungen von "Dinosaur" und - ich kann mich da kaum einkriegen - "Three of a perfect pair". Aber auch "Red" knallt gerade exzellent.

Den Gerüchten nach, hat ja eben jener CD-Titel / Song "Cirkus" nach rund 4,5 Jahrzehnten wieder Einzug in die aktuelle Setlist gehalten. Wir dürfen gespannt sein, sehe die wilden 7 am Sonntag, 11.09. im Admiralspalast.

The reality, however, is that particularly when using modern decks, the best audio quality is actually achieved using the lighter 140gsm weight. “180 or 200 grams records often don’t sound as good as the thinner ones. In my opinion this comes from the massive acrylic material. As this is plastic of quite some softness, it reacts in the form of resonances during the tracking process.
As good as the recorded music may sound, the plastic sound of vinyl does not…. the music is disturbed by those resonances.
Though the thicker record may be stiffer than a thinner one, the resonances are heavier because of the sheer mass of the material (which is not that stiff compared to the dynamic tracking forces).
We know that the needle is accelerated to a few G gravity, and that causes back force resonances in the vinyl material. The more vinyl is under the needle the more these resonances can arise.”

Da KC zunächst nur in Berlin angekündigt waren, werde ich die Wilden 7 diesmal im Admiralspalast sehen.
Parallel zum Hamburger KC-Konzert am 03.10. spielen die TUBES im Knust. Also aller (Hamburger) Orten perfekt zum Feiertag

Ja, aber die Setlist war dennoch verkürzt. Eigentlich sollten noch ein paar mehr Lieder gespielt werden.
Der Sänger erwähnte ja auch dass sie mittlerweile etwas müde seien und am nächsten Tag schon wieder in Aschaffenburg auftreten würden.
Ja, das kann sein.
Erstaunt war ich, daß die Band so nervös war, erstmals in Hamburg zu spielen. Hier beißt doch keiner. Oder?
Naja - das Eis scheint gebrochen und sie kommen hoffentlich 2017 wieder.
