Nein, bei Paddy weiss ich sowieso nie wann er was komponiert hat, aber die Texte dürften neu sein, da es sich um Trump handeln soll.
Auf der PS Facebook Seite in der ein Fan diese Video gepostet hat wird nur gestritten über Paddy's Text, keiner sagt was aus, dennoch wird etwas über eine mögliche Veröffentlichung nach gefragt, einzig und aleine bleibt die Annahme dass Armstrong, der das Video am 3 März gepostet hat, etwas davon wissen müsste, aber selber keine weiteren Details liefert als "Prefab Sprout: America"PS: hier gibt es noch etwas

The look favoured by McAloon these days is textbook biblical deity: a silver-haired man of seemingly advancing years with a beard to match. The manner of the recording also seems somehow appropriate. For all the prescience of Prefab Sprout’s 2013 song The Devil Came a Calling – which depicts Satan as an unscrupulous huckster happy to feed his lust for power by issuing promises he has no hope or intention of keeping – the McAloon of America looks heartbroken at what has since come to pass. “America, America,” he sings, straining to reach the high notes, “Liberty welcomes everyone / Now she’s blushing in the sun … An orphan child exiled by war / She may become a doctor / And work among the poor /A scientist who finds a cure.”

Der Paddy ... Zeit für ein neues Album. Crimson/Red ist auch schon wieder ne Weile her.

Ich hab heute beim Joggen noch mal Crimson/Red komplett durchgehört.
Ich bleibe dabei. Es gibt derzeit nichts in der Musikwelt, was diesen Paddy McAloon auch nur ansatzweise das Wasser reichen kann. Dieses Werk ist mein persönlicher Olymp, ein album der Marke "ich wusste nicht, auf was ich gewartet habe, bis ich Crimson/Red gehört habe".
Das kuriose ist: ich kann diese Liebe zu seiner Musik nicht wirklich sachlich erklären - vermutlich ist aber genau das der Schlüssel.
Und ich finde es auch nach wie vor ernüchternd, wie wenig Beachtung dieses Werk im Jahre 2013 hier im Forum fand. Auch bei der Abstimmung zum Album des Jahres ... naja vielleicht sollte ich jetzt besser nicht weiter schreiben - außer dass ich jedem dringend empfehle, sich auf die musikalischen Reisen des "Professor Pop" einfach mal einzulassen.
Ich bin damals auch durch eine persönliche Empfehlung von Christian auf dieses Album gekommen, und kann nur sagen: es hat was!!!
Ich find die Produktion zwar manchmal etwas dünn, aber gerade das erzeugt eine gewisse Atmosphäre, ähnlich wie zB Both Sides oder Beggar on a Beach of Gold. Die vielen synthetischen Sounds machen es zu einem sehr "synthie"-artigen Album, das auch gut hätte ein Robbie Williams Album der Anfang 2000er sein können.
Solchen Pop finde ich echt nur noch selten.

Dann solltest Du mal das Debütalbum Swoon anhören, für mich bleibt es das beste Sprout Album, vollgepackt mit den verrücktesten Ideen auch wenn kleine Produktion, ein CP77, ein paar Gitarren, ein bisschen Bass und Drums, aber voll inspiriert!
